|
Good friends, Bill and Sharon Hanold are from Merimac WI and have a beautiful Lake Front home on Lake Wisconsin. But when the Wisconsin winter starts approaching, the Hanold's wing their way to Green Valley AZ like all good Snow Birds. Both will also be volunteers for the Veterans' Charity Event, Bill will reprise his former career as a Bar Tender and Sharon has graciously offered her talents with creating custom Thank You Cards for the event. |
Mark and Lynn Bailey
|
$100
|
My Oldest Brother, Mark is a U.S Air Force Vietnam Veteran and former Power Plant Operations and Maintenance Manager with Salt River Project for the State of Arizona. Wife Lynn is also a former Senior Analyst with Salt River Project. Their work has taken them all over the state and in Mark's case, all around and out of the country.
Mark and Lynn now reside in Queen Creek AZ where they are a stones throw from they're kids and grandchildren, which keeps them constantly busy. Update: Being proud of both of my brothers, I wanted to share Mark's photo while serving his country as well. |
Tom and Sharon Smith
(K7AFA and KF7YJW Radio Callsigns) |
$250
|
Good Friends, Tom is a U.S Air Force Gulf War Veteran and retired USAF Officer. Tom is also a retired Lawyer (we're not going to hold that against him) and the current President of the Green Valley Amateur Radio Club and Sharon is also a Ham Radio Operator and involved in many Club activities.
They both enjoy the company of family and friends and are very active with their church. Tom also plays keyboard in a local Rock and Roll Band and Sharon is his number one groupie. It's amazing they can find time, but they somehow figure out how to work in several trips a year for family, friends, and pleasure travel. |
Mike and Sandy Bailey
|
$150
|
My 2nd Oldest Brother, Mike is a U.S Navy Vietnam Veteran and the owner of "Bailey's Propeller". He has been in the aviation career field since leaving the Navy in the early 70s. Mike is considered one of the foremost knowledgeable experts on General Aviation Propellers. While the four Bailey Boys where growing up in Tempe AZ, Mike was generally regarded as the gifted craftsman and tended to be an inspiration to me and my brothers.
He's very bashful about his talents and also didn't want to share a current photo, so keeping with the Veterans' theme for this Charity Auction, I thought as the proud brother, I'd share this photo of him while serving his nation. Mike and Sandy have been in Indiana running "Bailey's Propeller" for 25 years now. They're Son Christopher has been an important part of "Team Bailey" for years as well. |
Ed and Sharon Toal
(N9MW and N9RNF Radio Callsigns) |
$100
|
Good Friends, Ed is a former Technician/Testman and Manager with Wisconsin Bell AT&T and Sharon a former Banker. They too are long time Wisconsinites and have a 60 acre farm where they raise corn and Ham Radio Towers.
Yes, both Ed and and Sharon are avid Ham Radio Operators holding Extra Class and Advance Licenses and are members of the Green Valley Amateur Club. On weekends (in the summertime) they stay at their lakeside home on Lake Wisconsin. But when Wisconsin winter comes knocking it's Snow Bird time and they head south to winter in their 3rd home in Green Valley AZ. They both enjoy the company of family and friends and are very active with clubs and hobbies at all three home locations. Sharon is also an Artisan for the Charity and has donated a wonder water color framed painting of the San Xavier Mission in Tucson AZ. |
Deb Renner Hull
Tempe H.S. Class of 72' |
$200
|
Close friend and a classmate of mine from Tempe High School, class of 72', Deb is an example of many classmates from my H.S. days that I and Miss Pam really have gotten to know better over the years. Now retired as an Educator with Mesa Community College, Deb stays engaged and busy with family and friends.
You literally cannot think about the Class of 72' Tempe Buffaloes without acknowledging the wonderful leadership, spirit, and friendship this young lady has given...not to mention her infectious wit and smile. I had to use this photo in case there was any doubt about the infectious smile claim as well the Throw Back Thursday photo. |
Joe and Wanda Pinter
KK7DB Radio Callsign |
$100
|
Good friends, Joe is a U.S Navy Vietnam Veteran (Navy Corpsman) and former Technician with Century Link. Wanda is a delightful southern lady and gifted quilter. Joe is an avid Ham Radio Operator holding an Extra Class License and is a member of the Green Valley Amateur Club. Keeping with his Navy Corpsman "Duty Before Self" attitude, Joe is always there for others and is truly a talented craftsman as well. Joe is also one of our Charity Event Artisan's and has gifted two of his beautiful and unique wood carvings for the auction. I had to add the additional photo of Wanda to show her Southern Charm is still going strong. |
Gary and Cathy Donovan
|
$100
|
Close friends, Gary is a U.S. Air Force Veteran, retired Delta Air Lines 777 Captain, and retired T-34 Lima Lima Aerobatic Team Pilot. Cathy is an incredible gifted gardener, painter, and loves to travel, camp, and cruise the friendly skies with Gary as Captain.
I've know him since our freshman ROTC Cadet days at Arizona State, and know of no other person as hard working, committed, and talented a pilot as Gary. He has the gift of gab and in only a few moments of meeting him, can make you feel totally comfortable and as important as anyone else in the room. While at Delta Air Lines as a Senior Pilot, Gary was able to fulfill one of his aviation dreams, and that was to Captain the four engine Queen of the Fleet, the Boeing 747. Well Done Gary! Not a couple to slow down, Gary and Cathy are now embarking on building their own RV-10A. |
Tom Donovan
|
$250
|
Close friend, is a U.S. Navy Veteran and retired Navy Captain and Aviator. Tom is also cousin of Gary Donovan and frequent traveler in his aviation ventures. Tom has flown the P-3 Orion, T-34B and T-34C Mentor, and the T-28 Trojan. Tom has the distinction of knowing how to fly before knowing how to Drive.
If you want to see an outstanding demonstration of Navy/Air Force rivalry, then go to an Irish Bar with these two Great Patriots...and but don't get caught in the crossfire. Tom also has the honor of being selected to Docent at Dulles Smithsonian Aviation Museum...Way to go Tom! |

Ron enjoys bike riding and working in his "Dream Workshop" that includes some great equipment: planer, joiner, table saw, and state of the art laser engraver and CC router. Thanks again Ron for your generous gifts. Both Ron and Carol will also attend the Charity Event as Bidders. Ron is currently in the process of standing up an Etsy Account to share his talents and gifts. Ron will also be available for discussions during the Petting Zoo Display. |
